What do you call a cooking show that leaves you less able to cook for having seen it? Welcome to Ctrl+Alt+Chicken.

The brainchild of Alex Albrecht, Ctrl+Alt+Chicken is a video podcast featuring him and Heather Stewart attempting to execute recipes far beyond their skill level.

(spoilers follow)

In episode 1, our hosts use impatience and a freezer to turn Chicken Cordon Bleu into a burnt-on-the-outside, raw-on-the-inside salmonella-ridden blob.

In episode 2, when trying to get seven egg whites for the meringue for the Baked Alaska, Heather successfully separated one egg and then dropped the whole second egg into the bowl. Alex then dumped the yolk mixture into their waste bowl, but left a nice trail of it in the first bowl. Since egg yolk is fatal to a meringue (you didn't know that?), they ended up beating the whites forever with no results beyond exasperated looks on their faces.

So should you watch Ctrl+Alt+Chicken? If you're looking for accidental comedy, go for it. Heather and Alex are amusing folk, and they know enough to be drinking along the way (a technique that has served Alex admirably in Diggnation). But be sure to totally disengage your brain, because taking any inspiration from their kitchen antics for your own will almost certainly doom you to failure.
